Sacred Spaces 307 – Yes God!
26 September 2011
Recently I went to a worship conference in a small town, Douai in the north of France.
The speaker really challenged me.
His topic was: “Yes God!”
I can’t remember all the details of what was said, however this simply (and so challengingly) was what God convicted me of:
2 Chronicles 16: 9 “For the eyes of the Lord range throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to Him.”
If God looked at me, what would He see?
I like to believe I am fully committed to God, but I do most certainly waver from time to time.
And the battle for me is to not waver too much.
And that journey and life away from wavering can be met by saying: YES to God
Every day in each moment…
We so often “say yes” to
– The ways of the world
– The our wandering minds
– To our own selfishness
– To the opinions of others
– To pleasing other people
– To our sin (that sometimes disguises itself) and then sometimes is in our plain view.
Where in your life do you need to simply say: YES to God?
God has a better way (a perfect way) for us.
God’s heart is good. He can be trusted.
God is involved in building our character.
God is for our “wholeness”
God is not for our mere ‘existing’. (Life is so much more than going through the motions. How boring would that be?!)
God is for making this world a healed place. (We messed it up in the first place by our loveless choices)
YET in His mercy, He allows us to be part of the solution.
3 letters packed with a punch; say YES!
