Sacred Spaces 333 – Songs and Psalms (Volume 2)
22 May 2012
Theme Verse for this Series:
Colossians 3: 16 “Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts.”
(Each week I am gonna share a brief section from a Psalm and some inspiring lyrics) just to encourage and inspire and maybe teach you something. I know I do lyrics already; but these SS’s will be more structured. (If that’s possible in my world):
Dave Crowder Band – Everything Glorious
My eyes are small but they have seen the beauty of enormous things
Which leads me to believe there’s light enough to see
You make everything glorious
Yeah, You make everything glorious
And I am Yours. What does that make me?
Today, this song means even more to me; because my eye is currently pretty sore. (Please pray for me; I need to go to a specialist soon. Pray for results to be nothing serious and that the costs, God will provide finances for; because my medical aid doesn’t cover that.)
I have known this song for ages.
And I love the worship of it.
For those who can see, we are super blessed each day to wake up and see the beauty or enormous things.
Life the splendour of the ocean, the glamorous setting sun, the vast blue sky, the rumbling blanket of thick clouds and the sweet tunes of chirping birds; all are the display of God’s majesty.
God makes everything glorious… including you.
Today, what incredible thing do you see before your eyes?
Psalm 63: 1 – 3
You, God, are my God, earnestly I seek you;
I thirst for you, my whole being longs for you,
In a dry and parched land where there is no water.
2 I have seen you in the sanctuary and beheld your power and your glory.
3 Because your love is better than life, my lips will glorify you.
I love this passionate connection with God.
The imagery of thirsting for God, wow!
And nothing should compare to God’s love. His love will always be better than your life;
And out of response… are your lips glorifying Him? What words of praise do you offer to Our God today?
My eyes are “open”
But are they really?
Some days I see Your beauty
Other days I am blind
Come rain or shine
Good or bad
I choose to see You
