Sacred Spaces 396 – Youth Pastors, when they gather
18 September 2013
Last week I went on a retreat for Youth Pastors run by the MCSA (Methodist Church of South Africa)
One of my favourite moments of that retreat were the two nights when all the youth pastors sat together singing some songs of worship. In that circle of people there were a combination of many emotions:
Some were tired. Some were inspired.
Some were hurting. Some were succeeding.
I can’t even really contain and put into words how that moment felt.
But I guess in two words, I would say:
Just two guitars
Just people who love God
Just people who were okay with letting Him see their emotions
There was no flashing lights
No concerns about “how we sound when singing”
Just twenty four people
Just forgiven hearts
I don’t even know if this Sacred Space will mean anything to anyone.
But, behind all the “service and doing things for God” what is there left… how would you answer that?
Song Lyrics or Twitturgy:
“Here it comes, a beautiful collision
Is happening now
There seems no end to where You begin
And there I am now, You and I collide” Dave Crowder
