Sacred Spaces 473– Not just “please” and “thank you”

18 August 2015

During the past week on our honeymoon, I enjoyed the many conversations my wife and I had.  Catherine shared with me how a lot of people tend to just offer prayers of “thank you’s” and “please” to God.  And that’s it.  The entire relationship.  The conversation stops there.

Isn’t there just so much more to God than that?
He is not a shopping list.
He is not a vending machine.

We can continually converse with God in all we do.
And actually have a LIVING relationship with Him.

Not just living out of “obligation” … perhaps thinking: ‘Oh, I should thank God for stuff now.’ or perhaps; ‘I need to ask God a few things.’

Question is.  How often are we sharing ALL our lives with God?
Living and walking and dancing in sync with Him.

Quoted:

“That we should establish ourselves in a sense of GOD’s Presence, by continually conversing with Him. That it was a shameful thing to quit His conversation, to think of trifles and fooleries.” Brother Lawrence
