Sacred Spaces 483 -Before Our Time

This song has popped up a few times in my life this week.  Via email or some form of social media.  So I guess it will be good to share it with you and take a break from the writing series “An honest interview with the church”

It’s a song by Jon Foreman called Before our Time

Here are the lyrics:

“Before Our Time”
(feat. Sara Watkins)
January, February, March
The days are marching forward
April, May, June and July
They fly like a hummingbird

August, September, October
The year is almost over
November, December arrive
Now the year is gone

Time is illusion
Time is a curse
Time is all these things and worse
But our time is now
Our time is now
Our time is now
Let us sing before our time runs out

Time is illusion
Time is a curse
Time is all these things and worse
But our time is now
Our time is now
Let us sing before our time runs out

Perhaps, you need to hear (read) these words.  Which line grabs your attention?

Or maybe you need to delve into the truth of Ecclesiastes 3:

A Time for Everything

There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under the heavens:

a time to be born and a time to die,
a time to plant and a time to uproot,
a time to kill and a time to heal,
a time to tear down and a time to build,
a time to weep and a time to laugh,
a time to mourn and a time to dance,
a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,
a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing,
a time to search and a time to give up,
a time to keep and a time to throw away,
a time to tear and a time to mend,
a time to be silent and a time to speak,
a time to love and a time to hate,
a time for war and a time for peace.

What time are you in your life, right now?
