Our church building is under construction at the moment. Last week I stood among the bricks and the concrete and had this thought:
I can’t see in my mind’s eye what the finished product will look like. (Yes, I have seen the plans. But still can’t visualize it.)
And, perhaps the workers involved in the building can’t “see” what the end product will be either. And that’s okay…
They trust the architect and follow his lead and orders.
There is a spiritual principal in that too. We have an Architect who we follow and need to trust (more often.)
Ephesians 2:10 “For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.”
God is making something out of you and me.
Will we trust the process?
Will we trust Him?
And when writing this, the imagery of a beautiful tapestry came to mind too:
“We’re all only fragile threads, but what a tapestry we make.” (Jerry Ellis)
“We’re each single threads woven together in a tapestry God has created. Only he sees the full picture, but not even a sparrow falls without his knowing.”
